Mint Salon specializes in natural colored hair painting “balayage” and carries Oribe, bokka & Ibiza brushes.
She is in her 7th year as a hairstylist, specializing in blonding and balayage. Having had recently moved back from Nashville, TN., she is wanting to build up her clientele here at Mint Salon + Barbering. Kendal offers tape, halo, and sewing weft extensions on her service menu as well! For fun, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and fur babies (dog-Gus, cat-Ted) and binge watching shows on Netflix. I love to partner with guests who celebrate their natural texture or are on their journey to getting there. My favorite services are transformational hair cuts paired with treatments and color glosses - leaving hair vibrant, shiny and happy! Outside of the salon you can find me thrifting, exploring street art, experiencing music festivals and tending my veggie garden. I love sharing about my cats and food of all kinds BUT if you need a quiet place to chill, I'm happy to provide that. I've been working with guests since 2015 and have found the most joy in getting to know them, their goals and laughing throughout their visit! I cherish my time practicing yoga and camping during the warm months in Michigan.
If she is not at the salon, you will find her at her girls sporting events or soaking up the rare minute of downtime at home. Kayla has been doing hair for 10 years and stumbled across her love of men's cuts about 8 years ago. Bald fades are her go-to favorite mens haircut to give, but not her only specialty! When she is not in the salon, she is more than likely watching sports with her family, chasing after her toddler, and taking care of her newborn baby girl. Connecting with my guests and laughing with them keeps me engaged and inspired after 11 years behind the chair. Outside of the salon, I'm rollerblading, lifting weights at the gym and hanging with my perfect pup, Gus.

I have advanced color formulation knowledge and well versed in gray coverage and modern gray blending approaches to meet the needs of my guests. I’m a quiet gal and I'm ready to listen to you and support you. I'm happy to chat during your visit but I'm very comfortable with creating a quiet, safe salon experience for you to enjoy if you'd prefer. I'm a new mama and my schedule reflects my family focused intention. Outside of the salon, I enjoy time with my friends and family.

My favorite services are modern gray blending, modern block color and all hues of reds, brunettes and blondes. My availability can be limited at times and I’m honored to help guests find someone on our team who is a strong fit for them if my schedule doesn't suit theirs. I love creating short shapes through clipper work and the self expression of color. When I'm not behind the chair, I'm exploring and hiking throughout Michigan and taking photos of all the beauty that surrounds us.
